Monica A. Bacmeister was born in
Germany, moved early on to Mexico, which became
a spiritual home because of the colors, the beauty,
the people, and the traditions. Moved to Baltimore,
MD; studied photography from 1976 to 1978 at the
Visual Arts Institute, followed by painting and
film courses at the Maryland Institute College
of Art. Studied from 1982 to 1985 at the Corcoran
School of Art in Washington, DC. Awarded studio
space at School 33 Art Center, Baltimore, MD.

1988 awarded the Ethel Lorraine
Bernstein Award at the Corcoran School of Art.
Group and solo exhibits in Washington, DC, Baltimore,
MD, Raleigh, NC, New York City, Pittsburgh, PA,
and in Germany in Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Olfen,
Worms, and Frankfurt. |
